Two brave neighbors early Sunday morning saved a slumbering Howard Beach family from a fast-moving house fire.
Joe Behrens and his mother’s boyfriend, Andrew Besser, alerted the six-member 165th Avenue household to the danger as flames danced between floors. Besser caught the mother after she leaped out of a second-floor window, while Behrens implored others to quickly flee the burning edifice (pictured).
All made it out safe.
“I feel like I did what I was supposed to do. You know, it’s how I was raised,” Behrens told CBS New York.
