Queens Marks Memorial Day 2021

Borough communities helped mark Memorial Day 2021 with ceremonies across Queens to commemorate the supreme sacrifice made by American soldiers.

“Our flags fly high on Cross Bay Boulevard and throughout Howard Beach because of the sacrifices of so many of our men and women in uniform,” the Howard Beach Lindenwood Civic wrote on Facebook. “We all get to celebrate on this long weekend because they gave all for us.”

“We remember all those who lost their lives while protecting our freedom in the armed services, today and every day,” Councilman Bob Holden (D-Middle Village) added.

“This Memorial Day, we acknowledge and thank those men and women who displayed great courage making the ultimate sacrifice while serving in our military. Thank you to all our veterans! #EveryDayIsVeteransDay,” State Sen. Joe Addabbo, Jr. (D-Howard Beach) wrote on Twitter.

Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-Flushing) echoed Addabbo’s sentiment.
