Buffalo Man Indicted for Gunning Down Ozone Park Resident

A borough grand jury has indicted a Buffalo man for allegedly gunning down a 20-year-old Ozone Park resident last month, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Thursday.

Dwayne Scott, 22, was arraigned Thursday before Queens Supreme Court Justice Michael Aloise on a three-count indictment charging him with murder in the second degree and two-counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. Justice Aloise set the defendant’s return date for

He died as a result of the injuries.

DA Katz said, Scott was apprehended in Buffalo two weeks ago and returned to Queens to face charges.

“The murder of this young man has left a family devastated and a young toddler without his father. This was yet another example of the senseless gun violence that is wreaking havoc in our community and causing untold grief,” Katz said. “The defendant has been returned to Queens from upstate New York to answer for his alleged crimes.”

If convicted, Scott faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
