A South Ozone Park pharmacy was honored this week for its service during the launch of the nation’s first mobile COVID-19 Test to Treat program.
One of just six pharmacies awarded Distinguished Service Certificates, Rex Pharmacy, located on Rockaway Boulevard near Lefferts Boulevard, was the only one from Queens to be honored.
According to the City, the NYC Test & Treat Corps’ pharmacy partners played an instrumental role in the successful launch and expansion of the mobile Test to Treat program, which connects New Yorkers to Paxlovid minutes after their positive test.
Since its launch in late June, the program has tested 35,000 New Yorkers, provided over 1,100 New Yorkers immediate access to Paxlovid and now dispenses Paxlovid onboard all of its over 30 mobile units.
The award ceremony was held on Wednesday at noon on the steps of City Hall.
