The Howard Beach Lindenwood Civic Association and the New Hamilton Beach Civic Association on Saturday hosted the 4th annual Caravan of Christmas Cheer.
Families lined the streets along the route welcoming Santa and Mrs. Claus and even got to see the Grinch whose heart had grown three sizes this Christmas Season. Toys were collected along the route and were donated to the 106th Precinct Toy Drive and other drives for children in need in the area. The Howard Beach Lindenwood Civic will be hosting another Christmas event on Monday, Dec. 18 at St. Helen Catholic Academy with a Lantern Walk and Christmas Caroling beginning at 6 p.m. Carolers are asked to bring a lantern or battery operated candle to light the way through the community spreading Christmas cheer.
“What an absolutely magical morning in Howard Beach! Thank you to everyone who joined the parade, lined the streets and donated toys. A special thank you to Mike’s Heavy Duty Towing for making sure Santa’s sleigh and reindeer made it to Howard Beach in time. Thank you to Cubes By Us, Corp. for the donation of 200 toys and Brina Ciaramella and Sovereign Realty of NY, Inc.’s for making the way for Santa and Mrs. Claus with a giant Christmas tree!!” HBL Civic leadership posted to the civic’s Facebook page on Saturday.
