The Cityline Ozone Park Civilian Patrol celebrated the spirit of the holiday season by contributing to several area drives and events.

The COPCP hosted its annual holiday celebration on Dec. 21, an event dedicated to brightening the lives of local kids in need, patrol members said. Over 350 families attended the event at Twilight Hall on 101st Avenue, a catering space donated by Queens Party Halls.

This year’s celebration was a remarkable success, thanks to Councilwoman Joann Ariola (R-Ozone Park) and Emblem Health for their generous donation of toys; and State Sen. Joe Addabbo, Jr. (D-Woodhaven) and Anthem Health for their contributions. The PS 64 Student Council, led by Parent Coordinator Ms. Reyes, assisted by helping to organize and decorate the venue.

According to attendees, 102nd Precinct Community Affairs Officer Nick Salamone was the perfect Santa Claus, bringing laughter and joy to the children and families.

On Christmas Eve, Hacks Halal, in collaboration with COPCP, provided a gesture of appreciation to area NYPD officers. The local eatery generously donated meals which were delivered by COPCP volunteers to the officers of the 102nd and 106th precincts.

“We are incredibly grateful to Hacks Halal for their generosity on Christmas Eve and throughout the year. Not only did they generously contribute to our NYPD officers, but their continuous efforts in feeding our pantry volunteers have greatly empowered our community work. Their commitment truly exemplifies the spirit of community unity and partnership,” COPCP Board Member Souad Bouhayat said.

Also on Christmas Eve, COPCP provided security at St. Mary Gate of Heaven and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary churches in Ozone Park.

COPCP volunteers were on-site during the services as a proactive measure to ensure the community felt safe and supported, COPCP leaders noted.
