Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Howard Beach) has worked with the National Park Service and City Police Department to secure the installation of cameras at two area federal parks: Frank M. Charles Memorial Park and Hamilton Beach Park.
Since taking office, Pheffer Amato has spearheaded Federal Parks Task Force negotiations with the NPS and NYPD to secure and install the cameras. The current plan is for these cameras to be installed in late spring.
“The safety of our community is always my first priority and I am very happy to see this finally come to fruition. Once installed, these cameras will be an additional tool for law enforcement professionals to monitor the park area and ensure our safety. Thank you to the NPS and NYPD for their partnership with the Task Force, and their commitment to our neighborhood,” Pheffer Amato said.
