Forest Hills Set for Blood Drive

By Forum Staff

In response to the critical blood shortage facing the nation, City Councilman Jim Gennaro (D-Hillcrest), in partnership with the New York Blood Center and Queens Community House, is organizing a blood drive for Wednesday, March 27. The drive will take place in front of Queens Community House’s Forest Hills Community Center, located at 108-25 62nd Dr., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Blood drives like this one play a vital role in ensuring that hospitals and medical facilities have an adequate supply of blood to meet the needs of patients. The current national blood shortage has placed additional strain on healthcare systems, making community support all the more crucial, Gennaro said.

“We are calling on our community members to come forward and donate blood during this time of great need,” the councilman added. “Your contribution can help save lives and make a positive impact on our community’s health and well-being. I encourage all who are eligible to donate.”
