NYC Service is now accepting applications for Civic Impact Funding and Love Your Block—two funding opportunities aimed at increasing volunteerism and driving change in neighborhoods most affected by health and socioeconomic disparities.
Both funding initiatives have expanded in 2025 to focus on engaging residents in service projects that address City priorities, including Every Block Counts and rodent mitigation.
Nonprofits and community-based organizations can apply for up to $10,000 through Civic Impact Funding for volunteer engagement programs that expand services to support food access, environmental care, maternal health, mental health, outreach to people experiencing homelessness, and more.
Resident-led groups can also apply for Love Your Block funding of up to $3,000 to engage neighbors in revitalization projects of public spaces. Love Your Block grantees will also receive support from NYC Service and resources from city agencies, including the Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, NYC Parks, Office of Rodent Mitigation, Department of Sanitation, and Department of Transportation to build long-term impact.
“Volunteering is a proven strategy to increase community, civic, and personal health and we are proud to support efforts that bring people together and build a culture of service,” said City Chief Service Officer Laura Rog. “From hyper-local resident led groups to formal community-based operations, there is a place for every New Yorker to join in the movement to uplift each other and uplift our communities.”
