City Bravest responded to a report of a fire around 7:30 p.m. on Pidgeon Meadow Road. When units arrived to the scene, they discovered approximately 100 lithium-ion batteries burning in the cellar of a residence. The owner was operating an illegal lithium-ion battery repair business. Multiple micromobility devices and lithium-ion batteries were found in various states of disassembly and disrepair. FDNY fire marshals determined the cause of the fire was a lithium-ion battery. Additionally, an FDNY summons was also issued against the property owner for miscellaneous fire code infractions.
