Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr.’s “Borough Hall on Your Block: South Queens” initiative continued on Tuesday with a multiagency walking tour of the Liberty Avenue small business corridor in South Richmond Hill, followed by a Women’s Health Fair in Howard Beach.

The tour kicked off at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Lefferts Boulevard. Representatives from the City Department of Environmental Protection, the City Department of Sanitation, the City Department of Transportation, the City Small Business Services and other agencies, as well as the NYPD and the leadership of Community Board 10 joined Richards.

They visited with small business owners along Liberty Avenue to discuss government efforts to strengthen the community’s economy and address any concerns raised by the entrepreneurs.

In the afternoon, Richards also hosted a Women’s Health Fair at the Old Mill Yacht Club in Howard Beach.

Running from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the fair featured numerous city agencies and community-based organizations offering vital resources around reproductive care, cancer prevention and early detection, motherhood, mental health, relationships and more.

Richards first announced the Borough Hall on Your Block series during his June 2022 State of the Borough address.

“In my office, we work tirelessly to ensure our finger is on the pulse of our communities across this borough. That means being on the ground, meeting our neighbors where they are and delivering resources, along with real results,” the borough president said.
