Students from pre-kindergarten all the way up to 8th grade last Friday evening wowed a standing-room only crowd with spirited renditions of a wide variety of seasonal songs at the St. Helen Catholic Academy Christmas Pageant in Howard Beach.

Two classes of pre-k carolers kicked off the evening’s festivities inside the church on 83rd Street; the first instantly eliciting audible “awwws” from the audience with “All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth,” followed by “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” Ms. Hnath’s pre-k class picked right up with “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” and “Twinkle, Twinkle Christmas Star.”

Perhaps the highlight of the show came courtesy of the St. Helen kindergarten class, as their energetic take on holiday staples “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Jingle Bells”—replete with hand bells—even got the crowd involved.
