The suspected shooter who allegedly fired rounds in the parking lot as a melee raged inside Resorts World Casino in South Ozone Park last Friday is now in police custody, officials said on Tuesday.

Jaquan Roberts, 22, turned himself into authorities, and according to a New York Daily News report has been charged with attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said surveillance video shows Roberts firing shots toward the casino, which opened its doors in October, 2011. At the same time, cops were trying to break up a massive brawl inside at the grand opening of the Fat Tuesday daiquiris bar. Investigators believe the melee was over a female.

Roberts apparently is no stranger to the criminal justice system. As of Tuesday he was still fighting false personation and unlawful possession of marijuana charges stemming from an incident in February. And according to the News, Roberts was nabbed in 2010 after he shot himself in the leg with a gun he was not licensed to carry.
