Police on Tuesday nabbed a pair of alleged muggers who robbed a man at gunpoint in Richmond Hill, but the weapon used in the attack has not been recovered, authorities said.
Paul Cempeda-Ortiz, 22, and Antonio Ramos, 21, were both charged with second-degree robbery.
According to cops, Cempeda-Ortiz and Ramos allegedly approached a man on the corner of 118th Street and 97th Avenue. One of them pulled a black gun on the victim and “forcibly removed” his wallet from his person. The wallet contained $38 and credit cards.
Cops caught up to the duo a few blocks from the crime scene, but a search of their persons and vehicle did not yield the weapon. According to police, the investigation is ongoing.
