Pennies for Patients benefits The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Funding from this collection program assists with families afflicted by these blood cancers as well as research for treatments and cures. Since the end of January, our school has been a part of many activities to raise money for this organization. We have held a Dress Down Day, a Bake Sale which was run by our two fifth graders- Juliet DeCandia and Charlotte Burridge, engaged in weekly class competitions, and also had friends and family donate to our individual online class pages. For our final day, our school participated in “Stuck for a Buck”- every piece of tape was worth $1. Our principal, Ms. McManus, was a fantastic sport and allowed us to tape her to the wall. Our many activities allowed us to raise a total of $2,852.00.
