State Sen. Joe Addabbo, Jr. (D-Howard Beach) recently joined St. Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Academy Principal Phillip Heide (l.) as students collaborated to create their own school Bill of Rights.
The project helped teach students about civics by establishing their own code of conduct, which they later signed, agreeing to be respectful of others, respectful of the school, and respectful of themselves.
