Thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Howard Beach, there were a little more stars and stripes in South Queens this Memorial Day weekend.
The organization installed more than 80 American flags—provided at-cost by Cross Bay Ace Hardware—along Cross Bay Boulevard from 156th Avenue to 165th Avenue. Members of the club also placed a wreath at the Coleman Square Memorial in Old Howard Beach and at the Kiwanis Triangle.
