City Council candidates recently gathered in front of the Murray Hill Long Island Rail Road station in Flushing to personally thank voters for selecting them in last month’s historic Democratic primary elections.

Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-Flushing) noted that she endorsed and campaigned for all three candidates who are projected to be victorious in their respective primary races: Sandra Ung in District 20 (Flushing, Fresh Meadows, Auburndale, Mitchell-Linden, Murray Hill, Queensboro Hill); Linda Lee in District 23 (Bayside Hills, Bellerose, Douglaston, Floral Park, Fresh Meadows, Glen Oaks, Hollis, Hollis Hills, Holliswood, Little Neck, New Hyde Park, Oakland Gardens, Queens Village).

Meng noted that she also threw her support behind Lynn Schulman in the tilt for Council District 29, which includes Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Rego Park, Richmond Hill.

“All three of these outstanding and dynamic candidates are long-time advocates who for years have worked to improve their communities, and I’m so excited that they’ll now continue doing so as members of the City Council,” Meng added. “Their candidacies are historic and they are committed to improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods and throughout our borough, and I cannot wait to work with them on the many critical issues facing Queens and New York City.”
