Even if you didn’t catch a millisecond of the scintillating action during Sunday’s 2020 European Soccer Championship final between Italy and England, all you had to do is take a walk or ride to any one of the dozens of vibrant Italian enclaves across the City in the evening to know who took home the trophy.
Perhaps no impromptu street party was louder or more boisterous than the one on Cross Bay Boulevard in Howard Beach. Fueled by sheer pride for their heritage and gli Azzurri, hundreds danced in the streets well into the steamy summer night in support of their beloved homeland.
Congratulations! Forza Azzurri!
