City Fire marshals recently arrested two borough residents for their role in dangerously storing hundreds of propane tanks.
On Tuesday, FDNY inspectors seized more than 120 flammable propane gas tanks from an outdoor warehouse/parking area located on 129th Street in College Point. Marshals arrested Najeb Kabuli, 46, at the location for reckless endangerment. More than 60 of those propane tanks were stored in an unregistered delivery truck behind a wall of boxes constructed to conceal the propane tanks. All gas tanks were stored at the location without a permit, improperly stored near combustibles, and in close proximity to the pedestrian sidewalk creating grave risk of danger to the public.
