According to court records, the defendant met the victim, who was a runaway teenager, in September 2020. He manipulated the youngster into thinking he would help her find freedom. Adderley rented a room at the Hillcrest Hotel in Jamaica and taught the victim how to sell her body for cash. The defendant also had sexual intercourse and oral sex with the teenager, who was nearly half his age. The defendant orchestrated a trip to the now-shuttered Umbrella Hotel in Kew Gardens, where an undercover New York Police Department team rescued the child. The defendant was discovered by police outside the hotel in his car waiting for the victim. During the arrest, police recovered dozens of glassines of cocaine.

“This defendant lined his pockets with the money the victim made performing sex acts on strangers. Sex trafficking is a degrading industry that has caused irreparable harm to this young teenager. Although we cannot undo the trauma, we are holding this defendant accountable, and he will now spend time behind bars for his egregious actions,” Katz said.
