State Sen. Joe Addabbo, Jr. (D-Woodhaven) this week prepared to ship seven carboard boxes filled with dozens of coats to New York Cares so they can be distributed to those in need.
The collection of coats, pictured with Addabbo’s Chief of Staff Raimondo Graziano, follows Addabbo’s annual drive with New York Cares which aims to provide warm clothing to those in need during the winter season. The drive began in mid-November and extended until nearly the end of December, during which time constituents contributed gently used coats by dropping them off at Addabbo’s offices in Woodhaven and Middle Village.
“Every year I am proud to work with New York Cares on this important endeavor to help those in need stay warm and comfortable this winter, but it would not be possible without the kindness of the contributors who donate the coats,” Addabbo said. “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to those who looked through their closets and donated what they could. Together, I believe we are making a significant difference.”
