Woman Killed Crossing Woodhaven Boulevard

A Brooklyn woman was struck by a motorcycle while attempting to cross Woodhaven Boulevard at Myrtle Avenue early Friday morning, police said.

Cops responded to the scene around 2:20 a.m. and found Breanna Henderson, 23, lying on the roadway with trauma to her head and body. EMS rushed Henderson to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Further investigation revealed that a 2007 Yamaha 600 Motorcycle, operated by a 34-year-old man, was traveling in the center lane of northbound Woodhaven Boulevard, approaching the intersection with Myrtle Avenue, with the traffic signal changing from yellow to red when Henderson was struck while trying to cross Woodhaven Boulevard at Myrtle Avenue, from the east side to the west side of the street. The man remained on scene and was not injured.

There are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
