Borough Marks 24th Anniversary of Sept. 11 Attacks

The World’s Borough marked the 24th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in several solemn ceremonies.

On Sunday, Sept. 7, the Howard Beach Lindenwood Civic marched to honor and remember the victims of the attacks with a 40-foot flag carried by survivors and first responders from 165th Avenue and Cross Bay Boulevard to Memorial Plaza on 84th Street and 157 Avenue.

“May we never forget,” Councilwoman Ariola said.

“As we mark the 24th anniversary of that tragic day, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage of the first responders and everyday heroes who answered the call that September morning,” said City Councilwoman Joann Ariola (R-Ozone Park). “May we never forget.”

“For the past 24 years we have never forgotten the tragedy that struck NYC on 9/11. Tonight l’m with my constituents in Middle Village as we remember all the lives lost and pray for their families and our wonderful city,” she said.
