Police are warning residents about a string of overnight burglaries in Middle Village this month.
At three locations—83rd Place near 63rd Avenue, 77th Place near Juniper Valley Road, 62nd Avenue off 83rd Street—perpetrators entered through an open window, grabbed whatever valuables they could see and fled.
Two of the burglaries happened on May 10, and one happened early Tuesday morning.
All of them took place some time after 1 a.m.
In an email, Capt. Michael Cody, commanding officer of the 104th Precinct, said he plans to set up a clearly visible command post in the area and post plainclothes officers in the neighborhood.
They will coordinate with detectives in hopes of catching the burglars.
He asked residents to call 911 immediately if they see anything suspicious.
