A Richmond Hill resident is accused of seriously injuring two motorcyclists last Friday after an early morning collision at the intersection of 124 Street and Atlantic Avenue.

Omesh Mohan, 29, is charged with two accounts of vehicular assault, as well driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m., according to the criminal complaint. Police administered a breathalyzer at the scene, revealing a blood alcohol content of .17 percent – above the legal state limit of .08 percent.

Mohan reportedly told officers that he had consumed one vodka drink at a club prior to the crash.

Mohan also alleges in a statement made to police that he stopped his SUV at the intersection, looked both ways, but was hit by the motorcycle on the driver’s side.

According to the police report, responders found Mohan standing next to his car in the middle of the intersection, with damage to the driver’s side and a Suzuki motorcycle partially under the vehicle.

The driver of the motorcycle, Naquawn McIntosh, 23, who was found pinned beneath the SUV, suffered a neck fracture.

Corney McIntosh, 21, the motorcycle passenger, is believed to have been ejected into the backseat of the vehicle and is currently in a medically induced coma after sustaining head trauma, as well as several other injuries.

Mohan also faces charges of driving with no insurance. According to the Department of Motor Vehicles, insurance on the car expired on August 13, 2012.
If convicted, Mohan could face seven years in prison.
