Volunteers are needed to help rake and clean 200 tree pits along Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills. Sponsored by the Queens Boulevard Restoration Group and non-profit group In Our Back Yard, the cleanup is designed to “help make our community shine while protecting our trees and environment.”
The cleanup will be held on Saturday, October 15, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Volunteers will meet at MacDonald Park, at the intersection of Queens Boulevard and 70th Road—easily accessible by the E, F, M and R trains and the Q60 bus. Supplies and lunch will be provided.
“[Queens Boulevard] has been neglected for far too long. Our business and residential communities along Queens Boulevard deserve better,” said Forest Hills resident Steve Melnick, who is sponsoring the event.
