Addabbo Brings MetroCard Van Back to Howard Beach

In an effort to provide more accessible service, New York City Transit has a mobile outreach program designed especially to serve their needs in their own communities. Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. a member of the Senate’s Committee on Aging is again sponsoring the agency’s MetroCard Van to visit his district again in November.

To service disabled and senior members of our community, a specially-equipped MetroCard Van will park at the Howard Beach Senior Center, 156-45 84th St. from 10 am to noon and MetroCard Mobile Sales staff will assist disabled customers and residents 65 and over in applying for a Reduced Fare MetroCard.

All customers may purchase and/or refill a MetroCard; report a lost or stolen card; or have a damaged MetroCard replaced on-site. Seniors applying for a reduced-fare MetroCard will need to bring at least 2 types of identification to the MetroCard bus: Medicare Card, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, Driver’s License, or Non-Driver License. A photographer is available on MetroCard buses to complete applications on-site, free of charge. Disabled passengers can get an application on-site, which they must then have completed by their physician, acknowledging their disability.

For more information, please call Senator Addabbo’s Howard Beach (718-738-1111) district office.
