The two remaining floors at the Resorts World Casino at the Aqueduct Racetrack in Ozone Park are scheduled to open on Dec. 16, four months earlier than expected, Resorts World announced this week.
Among the elements opening for business are the remaining 2,514— of 5,000—Video Lottery Terminals and Electronic Table Games at the new 5th Avenue Casino; two new 250-seat fine dining restaurants; and an event space, a release from the company said.
“We have been truly humbled by the response of New Yorkers and tourists alike, and we thank them for their ongoing support and patronage,” said Michael Speller, President of Resorts World New York. “Due to the hard work of our 1,500-person staff, we’re confident that we will be able to continue providing the highest level of service to our customers as we unveil the second stage of our facility.”
In addition to added gaming options on the second floor, the newly opened sections of the casino will have two restaurants: Genting Palace and RW Prime Steakhouse.
There will also be invitation-only gaming at the Crockfords Casino. It is named after Crockfords in London, the oldest private members-only gaming establishment in the world.
The area will have 78 gaming machines, its own lounge, sunroom and terrace and can be accessed by VIP guests through a private ground-floor entrance. VIP guests can also access the Colony Club, a private lounge serving food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Guests who have loyalty cards from casinos in other states from December 19th to January 31st will receive some free gaming in exchange for a Resorts World loyalty card.
On the third floor, guests will find Central Park Events Center. In addition, the Festival Commons—a 70,000-square-foot outdoor space overlooking the Aqueduct Racetrack—will also be open for private events and bookings.
Pat McCabe from State Sen. Joe Addabbo’s office said the two more floors will also create a swath of job openings a few months early.
