Police Search for Woman in Gem Heist

Police are searching for a woman that stole $50,000 worth of diamonds from a Forest Hills jewelry seller, according to published reports.

On April 27, the NYPD released surveillance pictures of Erika Cooper, leaving the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Manhattan and asked the public for help locating her.

Police said that Cooper—also known as Bianca Williams—stole property from her victim just after midnight while he was asleep in his room at the Cosmopolitan, 95 West Broadway.

Police also noted that they met earlier that night at the Whiskey Park bar at 100 Central Park South.

The New York Post, however, reported that Cooper is a prostitute who drugged Forest Hills resident Kurt Kaiser and then took a satchel of gems he was trying to sell.

Police described Cooper as a 34-year-old black woman with brown eyes and black hair. She has a small build, is about 5 feet nine inches tall and weighs about120 pounds.
