Cops Search for Hospital Robber

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying and locating a suspect wanted for a robbery in Flushing.

Police say that last week the suspect entered the Franklin Center for Rehabilitation Hospital, gestured as if he was in possession of a weapon and demanded property from a 48-year-old man.

The victim handed over a bag with his credit cards, an undetermined amount of cash, his cell phone and a camera.
The suspect then fled the location in an unknown direction.

The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.

The NYPD says the robbery occurred on Thursday, June 21 at 2:50 p.m. inside the Franklin Center for Rehabilitation Hospital at of 142-27 Franklin Avenue.

They also describe the suspect as a black man in his 30s who is around 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs between 180 and 190 pounds.

The suspect has a full beard and was last seen wearing black sunglasses, a black knitted “Tam” type cap with red, yellow and green stripes, a black polo shirt with white striped and dark pants.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
