Thanks to the help of a good samaritan, a missing five-year-old boy was found unharmed about eight hours after he disappeared from his home early Thursday morning.
According to several published reports, Zackary Nazario was under the care of his 23-year-old brother when Nazario wandered out of his apartment near Rockaway Blvd. and 118th Street at around 1 a.m. The brother had made a quick trip to store and found the young boy missing when he returned.
Nazario was reportedly spotted by a pedestrian in the vicinity of Van Wyck Expressway and Rockaway Boulevard, about two miles from his home, wearing the cartoon underwear he had on when he disappeared.
Police had initiated a massive search for the boy including the use of a NYPD Helicopter, door-to-door questioning, and several K-9 dogs.
