A problem stairway in Maspeth got some measure of attention and cleanup last month after residents complained.
The stairway between 65th Place and 64th Street had become known for litter, overgrown greenery, graffiti and illicit activity.
After a cleanup spurred by Community Board 5, most of the graffiti was covered and weeds removed.
Some broken liquor bottles and new tagging quickly returned though.
