Residents along 165th Avenue in Howard Beach say they have really had enough with the deplorable conditions across the street from their homes. The overgrown weeds are covering the side- walks and providing a harbor for rats, insects and outsiders who continue to illegally dump their garbage.

The Forum contacted the Department of Sanitation about the conditions on the avenue and Kathy Dawkins, Director from the Office of Public Information, informed the newspaper through email that residents of the area can look forward to having their weed woes end by next week as DSNY was going to do the clean-up.

Last year when the newspaper intervened on behalf of the residents, DSNY Deputy Commissioner Vito Turso had a site inspection conducted and quickly dis- patched a lot clean-up crew to the location.
