About 100 senior citizens brought their dancing shoes to Father Dooley Hall at St. Helen’s in Howard Beach last Thursday evening for night music from the Big Band era. The free summer event is an annual memorial concert held in honor of the late Arnie Mig who brought his orchestra and similar music to Howard Beach for more than 20 years.
This year the event was co-sponsored by Sen. Joe Addabbo, Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder and local elder law attorneys Brady and Marshak.
The evening was originally scheduled to be held outdoors in the parking lot of the church but was moved inside because of the threatening weather.
The musical performance for the evening featured Frank Pedulla and his Music Staff Swing Orchestra.
