DOT to Resurface in Ridgewood, Glendale and Middle Village

Several streets located in Community Board 5’s boarders are slated to have their streets repaved over the next three months. According to a press release from CB 5, 11 streets are set to get their streets resurfaced. Seven of them are in Ridgewood, while the other 4 are split between Glendale and Middle Village.

Among the streets that will get repaved are: Bleecker Street from Seneca Avenue to Cypress Avenue, Himrod Street from Grandview Avenue to Metropolitan Avenue, both in Ridgewood, Otto Road from 64 Street to 69 Place, 70 Avenue from Otto Road/65 Street to 70 Street, which are in Glendale, 67 Drive from 73 Place to 80 Street and 73 Place from Metropolitan Avenue to 70 Avenue, which are in Middle Village.

Gary Giordano, district manager of CB 5, said that the two street pavings in Middle Village stand out among the 11 because the board
has been asking for those areas to get resurfaced for over 20 years and that those two roads are in the worst condition overall.

“They have been long overdue for a repaving,” Giordano said.

The street renovation will take place between this month and go on through November. The other five areas that will also have their
streets repaved are Grove Street from Seneca Avenue to Saint Nicolas Avenue, Madison Street from Cypress Avenue to Forest Avenue, Madison Street from Myrtle Avenue to Cypress Avenue, Palmetto Street from Myrtle Avenue to Seneca Avenue and Putnam Avenue from Forest Avenue to Cypress Avenue, which are all in Ridgewood.
