Time Warner Employee Charged with Threats to Kill Boss

An employee of Time Warner Cable in Queens has been charged with making
terroristic threats after posting messages on his Facebook page last week in which he threatened to kill his supervisor and co-workers.

The incident came to light when the threat was reported to Time Warner, who then contacted the NYPD’s Computer Crimes Squad.

The defendant has been identified as Jason A. Steward, 29, of the Bronx, employed by Time Warner Cable on Kissena Boulevard. He was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on a criminal complaint charging him with making a terroristic threat and second-degree aggravated harassment. According to the charges, Steward and his supervisor had an ongoing dispute involving overtime pay. On September 13, 2012, it is alleged that the supervisor
received a notice from a co-worker that Steward has posted several threatening messages on his Facebook page.

The alleged messages on Steward’s Facebook page, in part, read: “There is not a word in the dictionary that can express the rage that I’m in! I wish I had a machine gun to give them all the business . . . I will go to work and blow all them low budget [expletive deleted] heads off.”

At the time of his arrest, Steward allegedly made statements in which he said, in part, “At the time I was intoxicated and angry. I would like to put everyone at ease and apologize once again. . . I never intended to hurt anyone and words will not express how sorry and senseless my behavior was; I am deeply embarrassed for my stupid actions.”

If convicted, Steward could face 7 years in prison.
