A chase which began in the confines of the 106th Precinct on Tuesday night ended on a Brooklyn street with police seizing a garbage bag filled with cash and marijuana.
Unconfirmed police sources say that the incident could possibly be related to a potentially larger scale narcotics operation in and around the 106th and 102nd precincts.
The suspect tossed the bags from an older model white mid-size 4-door sedan, with Pennsylvania plates, one near Grant and Jamaica avenues and the second in Cypress Hills near the intersection of O’Brien and Lincoln Streets. When the cars came to a halt the suspect fled the scene on foot leaving the bag behind.
Police recovered an undisclosed amount of cash and marijuana from the bag, while witnesses say that the contents of the first bag were stolen from the scene by passersby.
An ongoing investigation is continuing.
