Family and friends of Thomas Kevin Onorato and his parents, including his mother, Melissa Onorato, a teacher at MS 137 in Ozone Park, are holding a fundraiser on Saturday, April 19 to help with medical expenses related to the little boy’s serious and rare malabsorption condition.Born Sept. 10, 2013, Thomas – often known as Baby TKO – has spent months in the hospital because of a rare condition that makes him unable to absorb nutrients from food, making him dependent on an IV surgically placed in his chest to receive all his calories and nutrients.
The fundraiser will be held at 2 p.m. on April 19 at the Plattduetsche Park Restaurant at 1132 Hempstead Tpke. in Franklin Square. There will be raffles, live music, family fun and more.
