As a coastal conservation organization, the American Littoral Society is greatly concerned about the status of Monarch butterflies, as well as other pollinators.

Therefore, the group hoped to help educate the public and create an awareness campaign called “Operation Milkweed: Save the Monarch.” The society initiated this with students from Broad Channel’s PS 47 last weekend, and volunteers will be planting more milkweeds at various sites over the next two months.
For more information about how you or your organization can get involved, contact the society at (718) 474-0896 or e-mail:donriepe@gmail.com
