A 73-year old woman was the victim of a robbery which took place outside an apartment building on 153rd. Avenue and 88th street on Tuesday afternoon. One male black, described as having a slender build, approached the victim who was walking alone down the street. He punched her in the head, opening up a wound in her ear which was treated and stitched by paramedics from Jamaica Hospital. Police have not yet released information on what was stolen from the woman.
The perpetrator escaped on foot through the Heritage House apartments. Police are conducting an investigation and continue to search for the bandit.The woman was treated at the scene and released without serious harm.
