The Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation will sponsor its 35th annual “Spring is Here” dinner dance on June 6 at 7:30 p.m.
The dinner dance will be held at the Woodhaven Manor Caterers, located at 96-01 Jamaica Ave.
The GWDC will honor U.S. Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan) as its “Woman of the Year” and Woodhaven Business Improvement District President Matthew Xenakis as “Man of the Year.”
The group will also present its “Award of Distinction” to NYPD Deputy Inspector and 102nd Precinct Commanding Officer Henry Sautner and its “Honorary Woodhavenite Award” to George Smith. “Awards of Appreciation” will go to state Sen. Joe Addabbo Jr. (D-Howard Beach) and Assemblyman Mike Miller (D-Woodhaven).
