Sure signs each year that autumn indeed has arrived in the area are the Woodhaven fetes: the Fall Festival in Forest Park, and the Wonderful Woodhaven Street Festival.

The former, which is funded through City Councilman Eric Ulrich’s (R-Ozone Park) office and co-produced by the city Parks Department and the Forest Park Trust, attracted some 1,500 revelers to Victory Field inside the 544-acre green space last Saturday, according to Ulrich’s office—which also mentioned that the annual event seems to get “bigger and better every year.”

The weather cooperated as families from all over the borough enjoyed free activities, including bounce houses, face painting, a pumpkin patch, games, and dancing.

Ulrich, who once characterized his festivals as “a great way to kick off fall—and Halloween,” also hosted the event.FallFestival2

The next Fall Festival sponsored and hosted by Ulrich is this Saturday, Oct. 24, 12-3 p.m. at Tudor Park – Addabbo Playground (N. Conduit Avenue between 80th and 88th streets) in Ozone Park.

As for Forest Park, bring the kids to the Carousel on Halloween from noon to 4 p.m. for Cido’s Annual Birthday Spooktacular. Dress up in your costumes and enjoy a fun-filled family day that will include free magic/clown shows, costume contests, live music, and free birthday cake.
