Queens Borough President Melinda Katz on Monday hosted a homecoming celebration for athletes with World’s Borough roots who competed in the Summer Olympics last month in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
The honorees who joined Katz and several elected officials on the steps of Borough Hall included Gold Medal-winning 400-meter hurdler from Rochdale, Dalilah Muhammad (second row, r., wearing medal); Gold Medal-winning 400-meter relay runner from Rosedale, Natasha Hastings (first row, l.); Benjamin N. Cardozo High School alum and 200-meter finalist Deajah Stevens (first row, r.); and table tennis standout Jennifer “Yue” Wu, who coaches and trains at the New York Indoor Sports Club in College Point (second row, second from r.)
