Queens Borough President Melinda Katz last week partnered with We Care New York and the Toys for Tots program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to provide gifts to children during Borough Hall’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony in the new Helen Marshall Cultural Center.
Last Wednesday’s event featured a visit from Santa Claus along with a medley of holiday songs sung by the PS 221 Holiday Ensemble, whose members received Citations of Honor from Katz in recognition of their outstanding performance.
