Outreach, a nonprofit drug and alcohol abuse program based in Richmond Hill, recently raised more than $1 million at its 35th Annual Metropolitan Luncheon to support treatment services at the agency.

Chaired this year by Daniel Kindbergh, executive vice president, Operations, of Brookfield Office Properties, the luncheon brought more than 750 guests to Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan. Three New York real estate and labor leaders were also honored at the event: Steven Alessio, president and CEO of the Sweet Construction Group was presented with the “Man of the Year” award; James Cahill, president of the NYS Building & Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO, was named “Labor Leader of the Year”; and The Jim Berg Memorial Award was presented to Jim Harding, division president of CBRE Global Workplace Solutions.
