State Sen. Joe Addabbo, Jr. (D-Howard Beach) and Assemblyman Mike Miller (D-Woodhaven) will be sponsoring their Fall Recycling Fair on Sunday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Forest Park Bandshell parking lot, one block west of Woodhaven Boulevard. The event helps area residents recycle unwanted electronics, clothing, books, and housewares.
Items that will be accepted on Sunday include:
Clothing and textiles, including coats, bedding, linens, paired shoes, scarves, belts, and handbags. All must be clean and dry.
Electronics, including computers, monitors, cell phones, servers, fax machines, TVs, PDAs, scanners, copiers, printers, batteries, laptops, cameras, power strips, wires, chargers, cable boxes, fans, telephones, VCR tapes, and small appliances.
Paper, including paper fiber and confidential papers. No cardboard. All paper items will be shredded to ensure safety.
Household goods, including dishes, glasses, silverware, lamps, pots, and
drapes. American flags. Eyeglasses donations and book donations.
Due to City regulations, air conditioners, paint and tires will not be accepted, Addabbo noted.
“I encourage my constituents to once again go through their closets, attics and garages and join us at this recycling event to dispose of old and unwanted items in a convenient and responsible manner,” said Addabbo, a member of the Senate Environ.
