City Councilman Eric Ulrich (R-Ozone Park) recently urged District 32 residents and business owners to notify his office regarding graffiti eyesores.
Ulrich and the Queens Economic Development Corporation’s graffiti removal initiative, which is funded through the councilman’s office, has helped beautify businesses, private homes, and public spaces throughout the district, especially in Woodhaven and Ozone Park.
“Ensuring the quality of life for my constituents is a priority,” Ulrich said. “My office has the resources to help beautify this district, so I urge residents to take advantage of this fantastic program, which has already helped to remove graffiti from hundreds of buildings.”
The councilman noted that when the program first launched, only private homes and public spaces were eligible. Since then, the graffiti clean-up initiative has expanded to include area retail establishments, which are often targets of street vandals.
“It was important to make sure that this program expanded, so that it could be used as a resource for everyone, including district homeowners, local business owners and any good Samaritan who wishes to make a difference in their community,” Ulrich added. “I’d like to thank the Queens Economic Development Corporation for all the work they do to keep the district beautiful.”
To file a request for graffiti removal, call Ulrich’s Ozone Park district office at (718) 738-1083.
