Borough Bravest last week discovered the body of a man after extinguishing a fire at an abandoned home in Richmond Hill, according to City Fire Department officials.
The all-hands inferno erupted inside the 114th Street house around 10 p.m. Tuesday night. The unidentified victim was discovered on the second floor of the two-story edifice shortly after firefighters brought the blaze under control at approximately 11 p.m. No other injuries were reported.
Many of the windows of the vacant private dwelling had been covered by sheets of plywood. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
