An 8-year-old Ozone Park girl early Sunday morning was discovered dead on her bed inside her Liberty Avenue apartment, according to City officials and published reports.
Kayla Sanchez’s lifeless body was found by her grandmother around 6:15 a.m., according to a report in the New York Daily News.
“Kayla’s panicked father tried to administer CPR to his unconscious and unresponsive daughter, but she could not be revived, according to cops,” the News wrote.
Kayla reportedly visited a doctor on Friday after complaining of stomach pain and a sore throat.
“The cause and manner of death are pending further studies,” City Chief Medical Examiner Barbara Sampson, M.D., told The Forum this week.
